Sing Your Heart Out

THE WANDERING WIND
Peter Hirschhorn, 2015
SATB Chorus
This vocal piece uses poetry from Legendary Ballads written by Thomas Moore (1779-1852).
A hunter once in a grove reclined
To shun the noon's bright eye,
And oft he wooed the wandering wind
To cool his brow with its sigh.
While mute lay even the wild bee's hum,
Nor breath could stir the aspen's hair,
His song was still, "Sweet Air, O come!"
While Echo answered, "Come, sweet Air"

WHEN YOU THINK OF ME

I wrote this piece in loving memory of my friend Elly Kozlowski who died in February 2014. Elly was a fun-loving and care-free spirit who always brought out the best in everyone she met. This piece was written using the text from her memorial service.
